I've cooled down about the not-being-able-to-go-out-to-study thing. No point staying angry, but I'm not in any mood to speak to my dad though. I'll see whether he sees the light or still firmly believes that I'm in the wrong to want to go out to study, then I'll make a move based on his actions. Sometimes I really wish I could beat him down, win him in an argument, but fathers always win, don't they.
(How wasted, I really did want to see you today...)

Just got reminded of how hilariously funny our class is, especially Lit Hot seating, which still makes me laugh every time I think of Weiqing's excellent role-playing of the bull whale with a swirling tattoo post-it on her head, and Amanda's brilliant Rawiri (casual, cool swaying of arms and shrugging of shoulders), and Sharon's "Koro Apirana-ness".

I feel like strangling myself every time I read a book because once I start reading a good one, I can never put it down and get around to studying. I spent the whole afternoon reading "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close", which I haven't been able to read, and today was a fantastic day to do so since it's VESAK and NO TUITION (thus wanting to go out to study and make full use of the day but noooo, HOME where there are so many distractions like GREAT BOOKS is the best place to study, ALONE!)

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close gave me a feeling of impending doom, of sadness, and it was of 911, of death, of love, of war, of more deaths, of friendships, and I felt a tingle spreading throughout my entire body when I stared at the last few pages, turning them slowly, letting the end of the story sink in. Letting the whole story sink in.

It's very, very good.

And I feel quite annoyed with myself for finishing it so quickly and wasting my whole day away because Monday I'm gonna be out most of the day, and I still haven't really started on my Chem - Finally filed my Chem stuff today - took almost an hour, and talked on the phone for much longer than I intended, and kept giving myself deadlines to put down the book and finally touch my chem work - 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, all pelting past and then finally I could put it down only after turning the last page.

I couldn't really bear to see the last few pages. The sight of those pictures - badly constricted my throat.

I think I waste too much time reading books, but lately I have had some crazy form of attachment to them - I should be writing, practising my compositions, or studying Chemistry or something of that sort, but I keep reading and reading during weekends and it's an unhealthy addiction.

I hope some cheem words have magically plastered themselves to my brain so that somehow by O Levels the reading of too many books would come in handy.

Air and Atmosphere notes are lying beside my mouse now, waiting to be held, so I shall go to it, and try to flush the feeeel of the good book out of my mind before I get too distracted.
